Skiing Adventures 2017
Long story short, reading week was awesome! There is nothing more amazing than being able to drive through the mountains and ski for a weekend to escape a chaotic lifestyle. The only thing that made this trip even BETTER was being able to spend it with some of my favourite people! I even got to spend this trip with one of my best friends that lives a whole extra province further from the mountains than the rest of us. Seriously, couldn't have asked for anything more.
On our way up to the mountains, we took a check stop in Banff. We stopped at the Fairmont Hotel (so cool) and wondered our way through many confusing but beautiful hallways. I was amazed at the amount of history that was displayed throughout the hotel. We also stopped for pizza at Athena Pizza and Spaghetti House. Again, I would definitely recommend. All 10 of us stayed in a little cabin through Air bnb together about 30 minutes South East of Golden, BC. We ended up skiing both Kicking Horse, and Lake Louise mountain resorts which was one of the most incredible experiences. Both mountains are gorgeous to explore on skis, and it was especially exciting to be able to check them out for the first time ever! Our Friday and Saturday nights were spent well, even though we were all exhausted from a full day of skiing. Overall, we had a jam packed weekend full of excitement and new experiences. I couldn't have asked for a better way to take a break from school and enjoy the great Canadian outdoors.
